Introduction to Animal Tracking: Track & Sign Basics

Every animal that moves across the bushveld leaves a story
behind it. This free short course teaches you to start
reading that story: how a foot’s anatomy shapes its track,
the systematic method professional trackers use to identify
an unknown spoor, and how the ground itself decides what a
track can tell you.

The course is taught by the team behind Limpopo Wildlife Eco
College’s professional Tracker Skills Programme — training
accredited by CATHSSETA, QCTO and NEMBA, in which students
log over nine hundred hours of field tracking, most of it
following predators on foot.

This introduction is free, takes about an hour, and ends
with a short quiz. No prior knowledge needed — only
curiosity about what the bush has been writing down while
you weren’t looking.
